Cooking a meal is a great way for you and your roommate to bond — or, if you’re already close friends, it’s just an excuse to spend a bit of quality time together. Instead of ordering out the next time you and your roommate decide to spend the night in, try whipping up one of these tasty meals. These ideas are also great to make and serve whenever you’re having people come over to your apartment!
Homemade Pizza
Who doesn’t love a good pizza night every once in a while? You guys can bake your own dough (try following this super simple recipe from Allrecipes), or make it a little bit easier by going with store-bought crusts instead. Then, load the crusts up with all of your favorite toppings, from cheese and pepperoni to fresh veggies, before popping them into the oven. Round out the meal by throwing together a salad with any leftover toppings and making some buttery garlic bread before settling in to stream a movie or binge a new TV show.
Breakfast for Dinner
There are plenty of breakfast dishes to choose from, and they’re usually easy to prepare. Try pairing something sweet, like cinnamon rolls, pancakes, or waffles, with something a little more savory, like biscuits and gravy, eggs and bacon, or a quiche. Don’t forget to mix up some delicious cocktails, like mimosas or Bloody Mary’s (This Delish article has more than 40 recipes to choose from!), too.
Nacho Average Nachos
Nachos are delicious. Plus, you can put together a nacho bar in no time. You’ll need lots of tortilla chips and plenty of toppings, like nacho and shredded cheese, pico de gallo, sour cream, black beans, guacamole, and pickled red onions. If you and your roommate want to include a protein, shredded chicken, cubed steak, and ground beef are all great options. P.S. Homemade margaritas would go nicely with this meal!
