Who doesn’t love pizza? Lexington is home to plenty of must-try pizzerias, so the next time you’re craving something a bit more sophisticated than Domino’s or Papa Johns, check out one of these six spots.
Goodfellas Pizzeria
If you want to eat a slice of pizza that’s bigger than your face, Goodfellas is the pizza place for you. There are two Lexington locations, one in the distillery district and another on North Mill Street. You can order an entire pie, or just grab one giant slice to eat on the go.
Mad Mushroom
Mad Mushroom is best-known for their original cheesestix, which are basted with garlic butter and smothered with mozzarella cheese. The best part? You get to choose from a long list of dipping sauces including ranch, nacho cheese, BBQ, and more.
Puccini’s Pizza & Pasta
The Puccini’s menu includes Italian chicken dinners, calzones, sandwiches, gluten-free dishes, and, of course, pizza. Fun fact: In 2012, Puccini’s was awarded “Best Classic Pizza in America” at the World Championship of Pizza in Parma, Italy, for their Campfire pizza.
Big City Pizza
BCP has been whipping up next-level pizzas since 2014. Their pizzas are made with handmade dough, an original sauce, fresh vegetables, and high-quality cheese. Our go-to pie? The 3 Cheese Mac & Cheese specialty pizza.
Joe Bologna’s
This restaurant and pizzeria is located inside a former Jewish temple with beautiful stained-glass windows. The pizza and pasta offerings are delicious but make sure you order one of their oversized breadsticks, too.
Rolling Oven
Rolling Oven, which started out as a food truck, is known for its Neopolitan-style pizza and sandwiches cooked in a traditional Italian wood-fired brick oven. The Lexington location of this pizza joint is located inside Mirror Twin Brewing.
